THE BIRGIT BALDWIN FUND
Birgit Baldwin (1960-1988) –The Department is happy to announce the establishment of the Birgit Baldwin Professorship to honor the memory of our colleague Birgit Baldwin.
THE FAITH AND NIELS INGWERSEN FUND
Established in 2003 in order to honor Niels Ingwersen and his wife, Faith, on the occasion of his retirement as Professor of Danish in the Scandinavian Department. The purpose of the fund is to enhance the teaching mission of the Scandinavian Department, providing support for instruction, programs, and projects.
THE CULLANDER - RAOUL WALLENBERG FUND
Established by Cecil C.H. Cullander (BS 1944, MD 1946) and Jeanne F. Cullander (BS 1945, MS 1946), for the purpose of memorializing Raoul Wallenberg's heroic activities in saving more than 100,000 Hungarian Jews from Nazi destruction during World War II. Its funds support both undergraduate and graduate students of Scandinavian studies in need of financial assistance.
HAZEL AND EDWARD BARCKHAN FUND

GRACE AND WILLIAM LARSEN MEMORIAL FUND
Established in 1994 by the family of Grace and William Larsen. The purpose of this fund is to provide support for students in the Department of Scandinavian Studies, including support for the creation of dissertation candidates' mini-courses; to provide support for students (undergraduate and graduate) to study in Norway; and to provide support for bringing outstanding visiting lecturers/scholars to the department. THE ANN MARI AND HARALD NAESS FUND
Established in 1990 in honor of Harald Naess' retirement from the position of Torger Tompson Professor of Scandinavian Studies. The purpose of this fund is to generate funds for fellowships to students in the Department of Scandinavian Studies, for purchases relating to Scandinavian culture, and for full or partial salaries for scholars visiting in the Department. SCANDINAVIAN STUDIES CENTENNIAL FUND
The fund welcomes contributions and bequests in Professor Goldberg's name from alumni, friends, corporations, and foundations. Established to commemorate the Scandinavian Studies Department's centennial in 1975. The purpose of the fund is to aid the department in its teaching, research, and public service roles. YGDRASIL FUND FOR NORWEGIAN CULTURE
Established in 1996 by the Ygdrasil Literary Society to commemorate their centennial. The purpose of the fund is to further the study of Norwegian culture and heritage and to disseminate knowledge of Norwegian cultural achievements. Monies from the fund may be used for scholarships, but the spirit of the gift also allows that the fund be used to support guest lecturers and similar activities promoting Norwegian culture.
