Elmer Diktonius (1896-1961)
Diktonius was a Finland-Swedish Modernist who sided with the reds during the Finnish Civil War. His political sympathy with communism results in a consciousness of social issues greater than most Modernists. The essence of his Modernism lies in his daring use of imagery and his urge to reject or revise more traditional forms of poetry.
