Moa Martinson (1890-1964)

Martinsson was the illegitimate child of an unwed mother. She was one of the formost female working-class writers in Sweden. Her sophisticated use of realism reveals the hardships of working-class women. She was married twice. Her first husband committed suicide by blowing himself up with dynamite. Her second husband, Harry Martinson, was a Modernist poet who received the Nobel prize in literature in 1974.
