The Drama of Henrik Ibsen.

This course offers an intensive study of the dramatic production of Henrik Ibsen and examines the role he played in defining modern European drama. Through discussions it gives an in-depth analysis of Ibsen's aesthetic and thematic models, putting each play into the Norwegian cultural-historical contexts. Additional emphasis will be placed on performance traditions and contemporary theatrical and filmic adaptations of the works.
