The Drama of Henrik Ibsen. (Thresher)
(3-4 credits)
This course offers an intensive study of the dramatic
production of Henrik Ibsen and examines the role he played
in defining modern European drama. Through discussions
it gives an in-depth analysis of Ibsen's aesthetic and
thematic models, putting each play into the Norwegian cultural-historical
contexts. Additional emphasis will be placed on performance
traditions and contemporary theatrical and filmic adaptations
of the works.
