We only have the resources for 25 connection at a time. Whereas this will most likely never be a problem, if you cannot connect, try again in a few minutes.

Tell me when you first encountered Andersen; and as a follow up, when did you realize that Andersen was going to be a part of your destiny as a scholar?

Bredsdorff relates his attitudes towards Andersen and how he attempted to make Andersen available for the English audience as he is - and not a children's author.

Will you comment on the tragic relationship between Andersen and Charles Dickens?
Georg Brandes knew the old Andersen - will you comment on their relationship?
So in a way Brandes was the first Andersen scholar - would you talk about other early Andersen scholars? (Hans Brix and the problems of biographical analysis - including The Shadow, The Ugly Duckling, and The Nightingale).
Is there one tale you would like to talk about? (The Shadow).
Are there any other tales or issues you would like to discuss? (The Emperors New Clothes).

Tell me about your first encounter with Hans Christian Andersen and when you realized he was going to be a permanent figure in your research?
You have recently written a book about the visual arts, not only about Andersen, but he is in there - would you comment on it?

Could we look at the story "Psyche," which you deal with in your book?

Do you find the same doubts about immortality in other texts as you do in "Psyche?" (Lovely)
Are there any other stories you would like to put in this context?
Would you like to comment on Andersen's obsession with death?
You mentioned that Andersen felt that words could be as expressive as the visual arts - would you comment on that?
