Introduction

Andersen fluctuated his belief in the Divine Being in his stories perhaps suggesting that he sought but did not find an answer to the question, what is on the other side? Though he offers no real answers, he poses existential questions.  Andersen continues to use tales and short stories to discuss important issues of existence incorporating humor into often tragic events.
