Introduction This lesson deals with the issues of love. Andersen had problems with his own love life. He proposed several times, but always in such a way as to promote rejection. In 1830 Andersen went to the Danish countryside to Jutland. On his return journey to Copenhagen he stopped in Odense and in Faaborg. In Faaborg he met the sister of a friend, Riborg Voigt, and fell in love with her. However, he did not marry her. Andersen dealt with love and the problems of finding a partner in several of his stories. LectureReadingS
