he Swedish Language Program at The University of Wisconsin-Madison is committed to challenging its students intellectually and culturally. The Swedish courses emphasize acquisition and development of the four basic language learning skills: reading, listening comprehension, speaking and writing. Class time is crucial for practicing these skills, attendance is essential and participation is graded. This, in turn, allows the student to controll a good portion of their grade. Cultural information about Swedes and Swedish-speaking peoples is also included in these courses.
